Project Greatest Gift 2019

by Christine Appel on October 20, 2019

Crispness in the air, colorful leaves, and all things pumpkin-spice make most think of Fall.  But behind the scenes at White Fields Church, we are already thinking about Christmas and caring for many at-risk youth and their families in our community.  Unfortunately, across the nation many children through no fault of their own must be removed from their birth families due to abuse, neglect and other safety reasons.  Sometimes these children can be placed with members of their extended families (kinship care), and others are placed with trained foster families (foster care).  All of these children need to be cared for and kept safe, but all have lost what was familiar and routine.  For these children and their families, the holiday season can be painful, lonely and too much to take on.
At White Fields, God has given us an opportunity to show His love and provision for these children and families by providing Christmas gifts through Project Greatest Gift.  Each year, we ask for the names, ages and wish lists of children in both kinship and foster care in Weld and Adam's counties. Each of these children or whole families can then be chosen (by church members or others in the community who want to participate), shopped for and blessed this Christmas season.
Project Greatest Gift 2019 will officially begin on November 3 and run through December 1 when all gifts must be returned to White Fields.
