What We Believe

"What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us." - A.W. Tozer

Core Beliefs

The following are the core beliefs of White Fields Community Church based on the foundational truths taught in the Bible. All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in and flows out of these biblical doctrines.

We believe the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are inspired by God and are inerrant and infallible in the original writings, and that they are of supreme and final authority. We believe that the Bible is relevant for today and our desire is for more than just knowledge of the Word, but life in the Word that comes when we receive it into our hearts. We value the study, meditation, and personal application of God's Word.

We believe in one God eternally existing in one essence, yet co-equal persons, the Trinity: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.  We believe that all things were created by Him and for Him.

We believe that Jesus Christ is God manifested in the flesh, that he was conceived by the Holy Spirit, and born to the virgin Mary.

We believe the Holy Spirit was sent by the Father and the Son to convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgement. We believe the Holy Spirit regenerates, indwells, and seals believers in the Lord Jesus Christ. He empowers the Church to live as His witnesses and in the preaching and teaching of the Gospel.

We believe worship is the only right response to who God is, and all God has done. The very purpose of our existence is to worship God. We value times of corporate worship and the cultivating of a lifestyle of worship in our daily lives.

We believe in God’s redemptive work in the world. The transforming power of His love is what motivates us to reach out to a hurting, lost world, and compels us to serve one another.

We believe that God created human beings, male and female, in His own image. He created them sinless, equal in value, dignity, and worth. We believe that as a result of the Fall, all people are sinners by nature and in need of a Savior, and that Jesus Christ is the one and only Savior of the world.

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice, and that all who believe in Him are justified on the basis of His shed blood as the propitiation for sins.

We believe in the resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord, His ascension into heaven, and His present life there as High Priest and Advocate for His church.

We believe that all who receive the Lord Jesus Christ by faith are born again by the Holy Spirit and thereby become children of God and heirs of eternal life.

We believe in the blessed hope, which is the personal, visible, and imminent return of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and the consummation of God’s redemptive plan.

We believe that in rejecting the forgiveness of sins and the salvation which is in Jesus Christ - by grace alone, through faith alone - the unrepentant will die in their sins and by God’s holy judgment will be condemned to hell.

We believe in the existence of a personal devil, who is working in the world to tempt, kill, steal, and destroy, yet his power is limited by God to only what God permits him to do. We believe that the devil has been positionally defeated through Jesus’ work on the cross, and will be defeated practically at Christ’s second coming, at which time he will cast into the Lake of Fire.

We believe in the Church, whose mission is to preach the Scriptures to all the world, in all of its endeavors being guided by shared leadership and supported by the wise stewardship of God’s people.

We believe that the ordinances of the Church given by the Lord are Communion and Baptism.
