Important Missions Updates

Greetings Church!  Below you will find an update from Preston Appel and our mission team in Argentina.
Just a reminder that this Sunday we are praying for the Young Adults who are heading on a mission trip to Hungary to participate in an English camp in Eger.  We will also be praying for James Payne who is heading to Ukraine to serve with 'A Jesus Mission', bringing humanitarian aid to to the eastern part of the country.  James is heading out long term for as long as the Lord desires.  He will be available after service to share his story and you can pick up a prayer card.

[Argentina Update]
We arrived in Tartagal Saturday after a six-hour bus ride and settled in to the church where the 23 of us are staying.

Tartagal is close to both the Bolivian border and the Paraguayan border and there are seven indigenous people groups here. We've been working with churches in these various groups. So far we've done outreaches with Wichi, Guaraní, and Tapiete groups.
In each place, our medical team provides free appointments and medicine. They use this to share Christ and to pray for the people. Graeme has been working in the children's outreach, and he's very popular with the kids. I've been going out with the group to share Christ with the people. The people are very poor and have many needs, both physical and spiritual.

We're fortunate to be here with Dan Ryder, a missionary that our church supports. He's ready at a moment's notice to do whatever ministry is asked of him. In one community, there was a group of paramedics in training,  providing medical services.  They decided that they wanted to join forces with us. Dan put on a leadership seminar for them, but in the end, it turned into a session on their failed personal relationships.  Dan has shared with them for hours, and two have prayed to receive Christ. Today they reworked their schedules so that they could join the medical team in a different neighborhood.

This morning it was my turn to give the devotional--in Spanish, of course. I went through a psalm of lament with them. It's important for us to be able to pour out our hearts to God about whatever is on our hearts and especially with the hard things of life. We've seen some of those things in our ministry here, and we go to God for his help.

Mike, thank you so much for posting this. We truly are called to pray for those who go out into the World to spread the Good news . James is truly a brave witness and we need to be lifting him up in prayers of protection, love, encouragement, strength of faith, peace of mind and a mighty faith only Jesus can give him.

In the same way we are called to pray over the Hungary missionaries called to Summer English camp. May God bless all those going as well as the every soul attending to learn about Jesus as well as speaking English.

It is a wonderful outreach going on in Argentina reaching out to many very needy people. They need food, health care, love, prayer, and most of all Jesus. Thank you Preston and Graeme for your bravery in reaching out to the needy. Please keep us up to date from all of you. God Bless your hearts!
